Stanmore in Middlesex is growing in popularity by the month, despite the downturn in the current economic situation. Stanmore property prices have dropped very little, and there is clearly a greater demand than there is supply. What are the attractions of this suburb on the outskirts of London?

Firstly the area is ideal for bringing up a family, with quiet streets and great access to some of the best schools in the borough of Harrow. The transport links are excellent, and you can be in the city within 45mins, using either of the two Jubilee line stations at Canons Park or Stanmore. Bus links, service all the surrounding areas, and frequency and range of options are huge.

If you like to shop, you can access the huge nearby shopping complexes of Watford, Harrow or Brent Cross. All are within 40 minutes by public transport or within 20 minutes on the outside by private car or taxi. All of these shopping complexes offer a range of modern outlets combined with access to diverse cuisine to accommodate every palate.

If you’ve got primary school aged children, you won’t find better schools than Stanburn and Whitchurch first and middle. Both are high performing schools with a great community spirit. Parental involvement and support is strong and both schools organise a range of events for the local community. The results and Ofsted inspections speak volumes about the ethos of both schools, and generally explain why you’re likely to pay a premium on your Stanmore house purchase (or rent) if you’re in the catchment area for either school.

If your children are older and senior schools are of more interest, than take a look at Park High. With a new head-teacher at the helm, of an already high-performing school, the prospects for Park High look very promising. If access to private schools is part of your requirement, you’ll find North London Collegiate (girls schools), which has a national reputation, literally on your doorstep. Access to a heap of other private and Grammar schools is achieved by a series of school provided private transportation companies that have a number of pick-ups in the area.

Whether you’re looking to buy or rent in Stanmore, you’re unlikely to be disappointed with the area, amenities or access to the city and beyond. With a range of modern new-build housing, and old-style 1930s Laing homes, with price ranges that start at £150,000 and go upwards of £1.5million, every taste is accommodated. Houses or flats in Stanmore are both a great in terms of location but also in terms of future investment. Find out more at www.stanmoreproperty.com.

The author owns a Stanmore Property and has lived in the area for the past 10 years. He is also the author of www.stanmoreproperty.com and passionate about promoting the area for either buying or renting in stanmore.

Lately I have been researching about credit cards. I have found that there are all types of rates and they all very greatly. Obviously everyone wants the best rate that they can find. I have set out to make sure that I can find the best rates available, but of course there are a few exceptions to the rule and every rule.

When you search for apply for credit you will find different things like zero interest for them the introductory months, balance transfers, balanced rates, and sometimes yearly fees and other things.

First of all people need to search for what kind of thing interests them the most. For me I like a good apply for credit. There are a lot of sites where you can find an honest apply for credit or resource on the market today, and I seem to prefer the ones that give airline miles. So I tried to spend a lot of things on my airline miles reward cards credit card.

First of all see what kind of rewards card or other type of benefit you want in a credit card, then search the different companies and see which one has what you like the best. I think everyone has a preference when it comes to searching for a credit card company. Some prefer American Express, some Visa, some Mastercard, and of course there are others to choose from if you’d like. A simple search on the internet will give you a whole list. See what you can find and feel free to comment. Thank you.

Downlighters are the perfect choice for any interior and come in a wide variety of styles and colours. Colours range from antique brass, satin chrome and white. Some style of downlighters can be tilted to creating flexibility on the direction of the light source.  This is ideal for kitchen lighting as the light can be directed to work surfaces, or positioned in the ceiling closed to walls to light pictures.  Downlighters provide ample illumination from a minimal amount of space – making them perfect for rooms with low ceilings. It is also possible to get downlighters suitable for use in the bathroom with an extended range of IP rated light fittings in a variety colours and styles.

Mains Voltage Downlighters are easy and convenient to use as they run straight from the mains supply and therefore do not require any additional transformers. When choosing your mains voltage downlighter you will be able to choose from a large choice of styles and colours ensuring that any interior can find a mains voltage downlighter to suit.

Low Voltage Downlighters require a transformer as they cannot be run straight from the mains supply.  The transformer will take your mains power voltage 240v and reduce it to 12v which is the correct voltage for the lamp type.  Low voltage downlighters are a common choice for bathrooms due to the reduced voltage, which is an obvious safety feature.  It is possible to select low voltage downlighters that are jet and shower proof.

Fire Rated Downlighters are now a standard requirement for all new homes.  Fire rated downlighters are specifically designed to comply with UK building regulations ensuring that they offer some protection from the spread of fire. Many of the fire rated downlighters available are also IP rated meaning that they can be installed in bathroom areas.
